Crazy Water, Pickled Lemons was Diana Henry's very first book written over twenty years ago and quite possibly her most popular. This is our second project together, revisiting the look and feel of the original and presenting it for a new audience. When I was approached last year to work with Diana on her titles going forward I was keen to establish a consistent look and feel to her books through the use of typography and illustration. This doesn’t mean that the books will look the same at all but that there will be a sense of them being a ‘Diana Henry’ book and that they will all sit harmoniously together on the shelf. The first title that we worked on was ‘Roast Figs, Sugar Snow’ and the two look great together. This edition has been illustrated by artist Ruth Barrett-Danes and so is a completely unique piece of work, we have enhanced it with gold foil flecks to reflect the magic and enchantment of the theme of the book.
